Language Learning Resources

Our family has decided to teach our kids Traditional Chinese with pinyin. Traditional Chinese learning materials are not as easy to come by as Simplified Chinese when you’re not living in Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Macau. If you are on this same learning path, you will know that trying to find that specific combination of Chinese learning resources kind of feels like walking through a dim, narrow hall without a flashlight. Whenever I come across a new Traditional Chinese resource with pinyin, I feel like I’ve won the lotto (well, maybe just a scratch card, but I’ll take it!). The printed resources that I reference on this site will be for Traditional Chinese.

The ideas, resources, and materials that I reference on this site are all ones that I have personally tried with my kids or am planning to try or have created myself.

This parenting journey is not for the faint of heart! And on top of that to teach your child a second language, although rewarding, makes the process even more crazy elaborate colorful. Thankfully technology helps to connect us and give us the opportunity to learn, share and collaborate like never before.

I hope that you find these resources helpful and always feel free to give me some feedback on what worked for you.
